Branislav Ivanovic has been in top form for Chelsea this season and in the last two away matches he has been just sublime. His important goal in the match against Manchester City which took them to the top of the table was hailed by Mourinho and the fans and the late equalizer by West Bromwich Albion stole the chances of Chelsea getting a 4 point gap between them and Arsenal who were also held back by the defending champions Manchester United in a goalless draw.

This would however give Manchester City a good opportunity to climb to the first place because they have a game in hand and are 3 points behind the league leaders Chelsea. City have a superior goal difference which would work in their favor. After the match against the Baggies Ivanovic said that they could have won the match but also praised West Brom and said that they hung on to the last minute and had the belief that they could equalize in the last minute.

With 12 games still to play Ivanovic believes that anything could happen and a few wins here and there would be enough for them to win the league after a long time. He is particularly happy with Mourinho and hopes that he would be with them for many more years to come.

On asked about his feelings with Mata’s exit in the January transfer he said that it was really unfortunate because he was one of the best players in the team having won the player of the season for two consecutive times as a Chelsea player. He hopes that the fans would be by their side and keep supporting them till the very end of the season. Chelsea would be facing Manchester City in the FA Cup tie this week.
