Serbia not able to attract fans in Euro Qualifying Match

Serbia’s had to play their latest 2016 Euro’s qualifying match with an empty stadium as the national team is serving a 2 game crowd ban after their previous incident with Albania.

Serbia played against Denmark and despite taking the early lead; it was the visiting team that emerged as the victorious side thanks to goals from NicklasBendtner and Simon Kjaer.

NemanjaMatic spread the ball over to the left wing which eventually landed in the path of ZoranTosic and the Serbian midfielder gave his country the lead at the 6th minute of the match. It was a superb start for the hosts but from there on out Denmark started to grow in the game as they collected the ball and gained more possession than their opponents but failed on actually scoring in the first half.

The 2nd half of the match kicked off and Denmark went all out in search for an equalizer and it arrived through Bendtner as he managed to get past Ivanovic and tied the match 1-1 after 60 minutes had passed. A few moments later and Denmark took the lead for the first time in the game after Simon Kjaer was left unmarked and with more than enough time and space to score the 2nd goal for Denmark.

Bendtner scored the last goal of the match at the 85th minute as Denmark claimed the victory despite having been behind in the scoreboard in the early stages of the game.

It was a disappointing result for Serbia after they had started the match in such a bright way and when the match was over, the Serbian defensive duo of Chelsea consisting of Branislav Ivanovic and Nemanja Matic blamed the defeat on the performance from their Serbian teammates.

‘’We see ourselves as big stars and always think we are better than others and that's a very bad attitude. The players are obviously unaware what it means to put on a Serbia shirt and play for the national team. This has been going on for years and we can't carry on like that’’ BranislavIvanovic told reporters after Serbian lost against Denmark in their 2016 Euro’s qualifying match.

NemanjaMatic also stated some similar words as the defensive duo of Chelsea believe that their Serbian counterparts do not have enough passion and commitment when wearing the jersey of their country.
