BranislavIvanovic ends his 9 year long stay with Chelsea

After having made over 250 appearances with the Chelsea jersey, BranislavIvanovic has finalized his career at Stamford Bridge as the Serbian completed his move to Zenit Petersburg.

The 32 year old defender penned a 2 and half year long contract with the Russian club.

The arrival of Antonio Conte as the new coach of Chelsea has seen BranislavIvanovic being dropped to the sidelines and it forced the Serbian defender on having to find a way to get some time in the pitch and the path that Ivanovic opted to go for was to join Zenit Petersburg and he is expected to become a regular starter.

BranislavIvanovic already has experience performing in the Russian Premier League as he used to compete there some time ago when he spent 2 seasons with Lokomotiv Moscow.

His decision to join Zenit Petersburg appears to be the best decision that BranislavIvanovic could have made as it does not look like he will be getting more playing time in the pitch with Antonio Conte.

Out of all the high-profile and highly-rated managers that have recently joined the Premier League, Antonio Conte is the one that is leading the way at the top of the English League as the Italian tactician has secured 56 points from his opening 23 league matches which is more than any other club in the Premier League and BranislavIvanovic has not played any significant role in this season with only 13 appearances having been made and 6 of those arrived as a substitute player.

It’s pretty clear that Antonio Conte does not have BranislavIvanovic in his plans and making a move to another club, is the best decision that the Serbian defender could have done to his playing career as the experienced player does not want to hang up his boots at least not for a few more seasons.
