Jorginho’s agent says midfielder is attracting interest from top European clubs

The agent of Jorginho has said that the midfielder is attracting interest from a couple of top European clubs. The Italy international is currently in his second season with Chelsea and he has already made close to 100 appearances for the club across all competitions. Despite this, he has been regularly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge and reports have recently emerged that Juventus could make an attempt to sign him.

When asked about the speculation, agent Joao Santos said that there is a close relationship with Maurizio Sarri and Jorginho with the duo having worked together at Napoli and Chelsea. However, he added that Jorginho is content with the current situation at the Blues and only a big offer could see him head through the exit door during the summer.

He told: “If you ask me if Sarri likes Jorginho, I’d say ‘yes’ due to their history. I can’t say anything about the transfer market as I’m not in touch with anyone right now. Jorginho still has three years left on his contract and is doing well at Chelsea, but if a big enough offer comes in then a deal could go through. In this sense, two top European clubs, not Italian ones, contacted me.”
Jorginho has been regularly associated with the Bianconeri over the past few months but his agent has sparked fresh speculation by stating that a couple of non-Italian clubs are interested in his client. Chelsea are currently not looking at the prospect of signing another midfielder and the focus rather remains on the centre-forward, central defensive and left-back positions.
The financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic should restrict their spending for the summer but they should have more funds than others, considering they have not purchased new players over the past two transfer windows. The Blues have already made one signing for the summer. Hakim Ziyech is expected to join them officially from Ajax when the transfer window reopens.
